Today I had the opportunity of going on a tour of some parts of Atlanta in a helicopter with my family. We had a great time, but it was rather short. But seeing as how this was our first time ever doing such a thing, I think it was a worthwhile 15 minute experience. I loved every second of it and both my brothers were just as excited as, if not more excited than I was.
Upon arrival at Atlanta Helicopters: Signature Flight Support, I wasn’t sure what to expect. All I hoped for was that the pilot will be nice and the experience will be well worth it. After checking in at the front desk, we met and greeted our pilot and tour guide who quickly ushered us onto the tarmac after a few pleasantries. The pilot Justin joked that it was his first time flying a helicopter too. “Don’t worry guys, I got most of my lessons from YouTube videos, so we should be just fine”, he said. As we walked along the tarmac and over to the helicopter, sun blazing and wind blowing in my hair I take one look at the helicopter and wondered if we were all going to fit in this tiny machine. To be honest, I had imagined that the helicopter would be bigger. Ten minutes later, we were all strapped in and ready for take off. Our tour began as we ascended into the sky and we got a clear view of Buckhead, Dunwoody and a little bit of Norcross. I couldn’t help but notice how small and insignificant everything looks from above, and for a moment it made me wonder if this was how God sees us.
Would I recommend Atlanta Helicopters to a friend? Yes, I definitely would. It would be something fun to do with friends/family, and I think it’s a great idea for a date. Unfortunately the Groupon which I purchased has expired, but they have other package deals at http://www.groupon.com. Currently, there is a 20% discount deal, so hurry and purchase one and enjoy the experience!
P.S: one day I’ll own a helicopter because those things are so cool.
